In a thriller the Dyersville Jurassics staged a dramatic comeback over the
Oakland Athletics winning by a score of 7 to 6 at Jurassic Park.
Dyersville scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning plating 2 runs on 2
hits. After two were out Brandon Drury kicked off the action when he banged
out a single. Matt Wallner next to the plate and he bombed a two-run dinger
giving Dyersville the victory as 32,453 happy fans celebrated wildly. This
was the kind of game that many fans love as the lead changed hands 5 times.
The victory went to Carlos Estevez(1-0) who went 2 and 1/3 innings, allowing
no runs. Jordan Romano(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He was unable
to retire a batter giving up 2 hits and no walks.
'Now there is a lesson in perseverance for you,' Teoscar Hernandez noted. 'It
was looking pretty dim there for a while, but we just kept plugging away and
it really paid off in spades! And it was great to see the crowd go crazy
there at the end!'
