Hollywood Marines in 10 innings by the score of 5 to 4 at Comerica
Park.
Both teams had scored 4 runs after nine full innings. Caracas was victorious
in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Mike Trout banged out a
single. Harper stepped up to the plate and he hit a deep fly scoring the
run. Caracas rapped out 11 hits for the night.
The winning pitcher was Joe Mantiply(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3
innings. Kenley Jansen was credited with his 1st save. Rafael Montero(0-1)
was tagged with the loss in relief. He was a hard-luck loser, pitching 1 and
