Shortstop Ramon Urias homered and had 4 RBI at Englefield Green as the
Columbus Crowd embarrassed the Woodfield Roadkyll by the lopsided score of 22
to 8.
Urias was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at
their team's expense. He slapped a one-base hit in the 4th inning, bombed a
two-run dinger in the 7th inning and doubled scoring two baserunners in the
8th inning. Columbus provided plenty of action in the 5th inning scoring 7
runs, the 8th inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 4 hits and the 9th inning
which saw them score 4 runs on 3 hits. The Columbus offense smacked the
Woodfield pitching staff around, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.
Clayton Kershaw(2-12) went 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory.
Matt Manning(4-6) was the losing pitcher. He was hit hard and gave up 9 hits
and 7 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
