The Chicago Colts defeated the dreadful Gotham Gold Gloves in 10 innings by a
score of 6 to 2 at Edsel Stadium.
The score was tied at 1 after nine. Chicago won the game in the 10th inning.
The critical plate appearance was by Jose Abreu who deflated the mood of the
partisan fans when he laced a single bringing in two baserunners. Chicago
ended up with 13 hits for the game while Gotham had 5.
The winning pitcher was Mark Melancon(3-2) who allowed 1 run in 1 and 2/3
innings. Kendall Graveman recorded the save, his 4th. Josh Fleming(0-12) was
the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 5 runs and 8 hits in 5 innings.
