The Hollywood Marines edged the Vernon Hillbillies in 11 innings at Long Grove
CG by the score of 7 to 6.
The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Finally, Hollywood
pulled the game out in the 11th inning. Austin Riley started the rally when
he doubled driving in a run. Corey Dickerson next to the plate and he
tripled scoring one more run. Pete Alonso was next to bat, but he was a
strikeout victim. Andrew Vaughn was up next and he drew a walk. Jonathan
Schoop came up to bat and would ground out scoring the final run of the
inning. Hollywood and Vernon each finished the night with 11 hits.
Jesus Luzardo(2-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Corey Knebel(2-1) was the loser in relief.
