Zack Wheeler racked up an impressive total of 11 strikeouts as the Burbank
Tigers beat the Tombstone Huckleberries by a score of 8 to 1.
Wheeler(13-8) was in control of the game from the outset. He surrendered only
3 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings. Burbank out-hit Tombstone for the game, 11
hits to 7.
Chris Bassitt(11-4) was the loser. He was unable to control the Burbank
offense and allowed 9 hits and 6 walks in 6 innings.
When asked about his strikeout total for the game, Wheeler offered, 'The fan's
really got into it. It is fun to see them tally up the strikeout totals up
there in the stands. Fortunately, I kept them busy tonight - of course, it
would be all for naught without the 'W'.'
