Left fielder Michael Brantley had 4 hits as the very strong Jamaica Smoke
defeated the Tampico Stogies in 10 innings by the score of 4 to 3 at Busch
Stadium.
Both teams had scored 3 runs after nine full innings. Jamaica won it in the
10th inning. After two outs Brantley drew a walk. A balk was called scoring
the run. Jamaica banged out 8 hits on the night.
Blake Treinen(6-4) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Paul
Fry(3-3) suffered the loss in relief. It was a tough loss for him as he did
not allow an earned run in his 2 and 1/3 innings of work.
