In a good matchup it was the Tampico Stogies 7, the Aarlington Aardvarks 5 at
Aarlington Field.
Tampico scored the decisive runs in a big 8th inning with 3 runs utilizing 4
base hits. After an out was recorded, Chad Pinder began the rally when he
ripped a single. Aledmys Diaz followed and he cleared the fences for a
two-run home run. Luis Garcia then doubled. Pedro Severino followed next
and he reached on an error. Kyle Farmer came up to bat and slapped a
base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. Alex Reyes, after tossing a
perfect ninth, was credited with his 31st save.
Chasen Shreve(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 1 and 2/3 innings.
Eric Lauer(4-7) ended up with the loss in relief. He pitched 3 innings and
surrendered 6 hits and 1 walk.
