One run was the difference at Edsel Stadium as the Gotham Gold Gloves defeated
the pathetic Columbus Crowd 5 to 4.
Gotham scored 3 runs in the 4th inning when they had 3 base hits. The
critical plate appearance was by Kolten Wong who made the Gotham fans a happy
lot when he doubled which was good for two runs. Columbus had a chance to
come back in the 9th but they came up short.
The victory was credited to John Gant(4-3) who went 5 innings, allowing 1 run.
Gant got relief help from Lou Trivino who gained credit for his 14th save.
Vladimir Gutierrez(2-6) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings
allowing 7 hits and 3 walks.
