Cole Irvin had a complete game at Edsel Stadium where the Gotham Gold Gloves
beat the Tampico Stogies 13 to 9.
Paul Dejong helped send the fans home happy. He doubled resulting in a run in
the 1st inning, ripped a base-knock bringing in a run in the 4th inning and
delivered a solo blast in the 7th inning. Tampico was not lacking for run
support as they scored in 6 separate innings, yet victory eluded them as they
seemed to forget that pitching is also needed to win ballgames.
Irvin(4-5) lasted until the end allowing 9 runs for the win. Brad Keller(5-6)
was the loser. He was knocked around by Gotham, allowing 8 hits and 4 walks
in 3 innings.
