379 fans were treated to a fine game at RingCentral Coliseum as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The spectacular Holland Heffalumps
won by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.
Oakland was unable to claim the lead after Holland went ahead in the top of
the 6th inning plating an isolated run. Randy Arozarena drew a walk.
Enrique Hernandez struck out, unable to help the rally. Andrew McCutchen
then delivered a one-base hit. Brandon Lowe came up and he drew a walk to
load the bases. Martin Maldonado came up to bat and would ground out scoring
the run. Oakland made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push
the needed runs across.
Tyler Anderson(7-2) allowed 2 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Tyler Rogers was credited with his 6th save. Merrill Kelly(4-10)
was given the loss. He surrendered 3 runs and 3 hits in 5 and 1/3 innings.
