In an exciting finish the Holland Heffalumps pulled out a win over the reeling
Tampico Stogies by a score of 6 to 4 at The Heffadrome.
Holland came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 9th
inning plating 2 runs. After two outs Nolan Arenado keyed the rally when he
drew a walk. Randy Arozarena stepped into the batter's box and he cracked a
two-run shot making Holland the victor and beginning a joyous home town
celebration. Holland managed 10 hits in their victory.
Jordan Sheffield(1-0) allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. Juan Minaya(3-3) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 2
runs and 2 hits in 1 and 2/3 innings.
