Nolan Arenado smacked 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI at The Heffadrome where the
red-hot Holland Heffalumps beat the New York The Yanks in 11 innings by the
score of 8 to 5.
Both teams had scored 5 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Holland pulled
the game out in the 11th inning. Jason Castro began the Holland spurt when
he drew a walk. Brandon Lowe followed, but he was set down on strikes.
Arenado then lost the ball over the fence for three runs resulting in an
exciting win for Holland and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town
fans. Holland won despite being out-hit by New York 11 hits to 7.
The victory went to Andrew Chafin(4-2) who went 1 and 1/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Mychal Givens(1-2) ended up with the loss in relief. He pitched 1 and
2/3 innings and surrendered 1 hit and 1 walk.
