It was a great finish at The O.K. Corral as the Tombstone Huckleberries pulled
off a dramatic comeback beating the Columbus Crowd by the count of 3 to
2.
Tombstone scored the winning runs in the 9th inning plating 2 runs using 4
hits. Kyle Schwarber initiated the scoring when he smashed a solo-shot out
of the park. After another out, Eric Haase was a strikeout victim, unable to
help out. Cedric Mullins then lined a one-base hit. Whit Merrifield
followed next and he delivered a base-hit. Tarik Skubal then bounced one in
the dirt for a wild pitch. Lane Thomas added to the rally and laced a
base-knock resulting in a mighty exciting win for Tombstone and the 51,559
home town fans in attendance. Columbus was out-hit by Tombstone, 10 hits to
3.
The win was credited to Giovanny Gallegos(4-2) who went 1 inning allowing no
runs. Kyle Funkhouser(2-4) was tagged with the loss in relief.
'That was exciting!,' Mitch Garver said. 'I would have paid money to watch
this one.'
