Austin Gomber had an impressive outing as the Hollywood Marines staged a
dramatic comeback over the Dyersville Jurassics by a score of 4 to 3 at
Comerica Park.
Hollywood had the winning rally in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs on 2 base
hits. After an out was recorded, Dansby Swanson initiated the scoring spurt
when he slapped a one-base hit. One out later, Jose Altuve came up and he
cleared the fences for a two-run home run giving Hollywood the win much to
the delight of the home town crowd. Hollywood had only 6 hits for the night.
The victory was credited to Chris Stratton(3-2) who went 1 inning, allowing no
runs. Andrew Kittredge(3-2) was charged with the loss in relief.
'Now there is a lesson in perseverance for you,' Austin Meadows noted. 'It
was looking pretty dim there for a while, but we just kept plugging away and
it really paid off in spades! And it was great to see the crowd go crazy
there at the end!'
