The Tampico Stogies endured an embarrassing pasting as a potent New York The
Yanks lineup tallied 9 runs while Carlos Martinez(6-1)with effective use of
the bullpen throttled Tampico.
Sam Hilliard was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine
day at their team's expense. He stroked a one-base hit which plated a run in
the 4th inning and launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam
homerun in the 7th inning. Tampico was out-hit by New York, 12 hits to 3.
Johan Oviedo(0-1) was tagged with the loss. New York scored big getting 4
runs off him in 3 and 1/3 innings.
