Designated hitter Andrew McCutchen hit 2 doubles at The Heffadrome as the
Holland Heffalumps won in dramatic fashion coming back to beat the woeful
Chicago WC White Caps by the count of 3 to 2.
Holland came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring
2 runs utilizing 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Enrique Hernandez
started the scoring when he clubbed a solo home run. Nolan Arenado followed
next and he ripped a solo home run making Holland the victor and beginning a
joyous home town celebration. Both teams totaled 5 hits on the night.
Jose Alvarez(4-1) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 inning. Adam
Ottavino(0-3) suffered the loss in relief. He gave up 1 hit and no walks
without retiring a batter.
'What a win!', Alvarez said. 'These are the kind of games that stand out in
your mind at the end of a season.'
