Eduardo Rodriguez had an impressive outing and Phil Gosselin had 4 hits and 4
RBI at Edsel Stadium where the Gotham Gold Gloves beat the Caracas Leones 9
to 1.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Gosselin. He slapped a single in the 2nd inning, lifted one out
of the park for a two run home run in the 3rd inning, hit a one-base hit
which was good for two runs in the 4th inning and ripped a base-hit in the
6th inning. Gotham out-hit Caracas for the game, 14 hits to 2.
The winning pitcher was Rodriguez(3-6) who allowed 1 run in 7 innings. Sonny
Gray(4-3) took the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 9 hits and 3 walks in 3
and 2/3 innings.
