Starlin Castro went yard and had 3 RBI as the New York The Yanks won a
heart-stopping victory over the Streator Reds, 6 to 3.
New York scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning plating 3 runs. Joey
Gallo led off and keyed the rally when he drew a walk. Two outs later Jean
Segura stepped up to the plate and he reached on an error. Castro then
clubbed a three-run home run making New York the winners and sending the
33,633 fans home happy. For the game New York out-hit Streator 11 to 6.
The winning pitcher was Hunter Strickland(1-1) who allowed no runs in 1
inning. Ryne Stanek(0-2) was the loser in relief. It was a tough loss for
him as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work.
