In a thrilling finish the Dublin Pubcrawlers won in dramatic fashion coming
back to beat the Gotham Gold Gloves by the count of 4 to 3.
Dublin had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2 runs on 3
base hits. After an out was recorded, Joey Votto started the scoring when he
delivered a solo blast. Manny Pina stepped up next and he hit a single.
Jason Heyward then lined a base-hit. Kole Calhoun was up next and he drew a
walk to load the bases. Carlos Correa followed, but he was set down on
strikes. Jose Ramirez contributed to the rally and drew a walk making Dublin
the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Dublin finished
with 9 hits in the victory.
Tony Watson(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Josh
Fleming(0-4) took the loss in relief. He was unable to retire a batter
allowing 3 hits and no walks.
'What a game!,' Watson said afterward. 'When we won it I almost couldn't
believe it!'
