Charlie Morton racked up an impressive total of 11 strikeouts at Jurassic Park
where the Dyersville Jurassics beat the Dublin Pubcrawlers 6 to 3.
J.T. Realmuto enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He hit a 'grand salami' to
the delight of his teammates in the 5th inning and slapped a base-hit in the
7th inning. Dublin made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push
the needed runs across.
The victory went to Morton(3-1) who went 7 innings, allowing no runs. Will
Smith recorded his 3rd save. Dane Dunning(1-3) was charged with the loss.
He allowed 4 runs and 6 hits in 4 and 2/3 innings.
The Dyersville fans were thrilled by the performance put forth by Morton, but
it was clearly his strikeouts that they enjoyed most. 'When he reached 10
strikeouts the fans showed him their appreciation with a loud cheer.' Jim
Aldrich said following the game.
