In a dramatic ending the Hollywood Marines staged a comeback and held on to
win over the Gotham Gold Gloves by the count of 5 to 4.
Hollywood had the game winning rally in the 9th inning plating 2 runs on 2
hits. Charlie Blackmon led off and started the rally when he doubled. Bobby
Dalbec stepped up next and he drew a walk. Sean Murphy dug into the batters
box next, but he struck out. Jonathan Schoop followed and he laced a
one-base hit which scored a run. Yonathan Daza stepped into the box and
reached on an error. Pete Alonso did his part to keep things going and drew
a walk scoring the final run of the inning. Liam Hendriks was perfect in
relief and got the save, his 6th.
Noe Ramirez(2-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Heath Hembree(0-1)
was charged with the loss in relief. 'We just kept swinging the bats and
didn't give up,' Schoop said. 'If you just keep trying good things can
happen!'
