Tommy La Stella collected 4 RBI with one swing of the bat and Brandon Woodruff
dominated striking out 11 Dyersville batters as the Columbus Crowd clobbered
the outmatched Dyersville Jurassics, 13 to 3.
La Stella enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He electrified the crowd with
a Grand Slam home run in the 2nd inning and delivered a base-hit in the 6th
inning. Columbus banged out 16 hits on the night.
Woodruff(3-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 3 runs. Charlie Morton(2-1) was charged with the loss. He saw his
ERA jump from 3.81 to 4.94 as gave up 5 runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
When asked about his strikeout total for the game, Woodruff offered, 'The
fan's really got into it. It is fun to see them tally up the strikeout
totals up there in the stands. Fortunately, I kept them busy tonight - of
course, it would be all for naught without the 'W'.'
