Nelson Cruz had 4 hits and Tyler Duffey pitched 3 strong innings as the Dublin
Pubcrawlers topped the Jamaica Smoke by a score of 3 to 2 at Lawton
Stadium.
Dublin promptly took the lead in their half of the first with 2 runs utilizing
3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Brandon Nimmo began the Dublin spurt
when he lined a base-hit. Carlos Correa stepped into the batter's box and he
doubled driving in a run. Jose Ramirez was the next batter, but he struck
out. Cruz was up next and he slapped a single scoring the final run of the
inning. Duffey pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 2nd save.
Rich Hill(1-1) went 6 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Jordan
Montgomery(1-1) was charged with the loss. With this win, Dublin has a 5-8
record. They have been 4-6 lately. With the loss Jamaica now has a record
of 9-4.
