19,800 fans were treated to a fine game at Aarlington Field as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Aarlington Aardvarks won by the
slimmest of margins, 2 to 1.
The game was won by Aarlington when they scored a run in the 8th inning. Alec
Bohm delivered a solo blast. Vernon tried unsuccessfully to come back in the
9th.
The win was credited to Michael Kopech(1-1) who went 2 innings allowing no
runs. Kopech got relief help from Brad Boxberger who gained credit for his
2nd save. Tim Mayza(0-2) was hit with the loss in relief.
Despite losing John Stryker was optimistic after the game. 'We'll get over
this one. Sometimes the breaks fall your way, sometimes they don't. Any one
of a dozen little things go different, and we come out on top.'
