The Vernon Hillbillies nipped the hopeless Tombstone Huckleberries 4 to 3 at
The O.K. Corral in a hard fought contest.
Tombstone fell behind quickly as the Vernon offense came through in the first
inning when they tallied 2 runs on 3 hits. Neither team managed to score
after the 4th inning.
Josh Tomlin(7-3) went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory.
Tomlin was helped out by Brandon Bielak who recorded his 2nd save. Mike
Minor(6-10) was the losing pitcher.
'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Tomlin, 'I got burned on
a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
