Left fielder Ben Gamel homered and had 3 RBI and Trevor Rosenthal was strong
in relief for Burbank at Sahlen Field as the Burbank Tigers beat the hapless
Palatine Cubs by the count of 10 to 9.
Burbank brought 8 runs across the plate in the top of the 4th inning when they
came up with 6 base hits. The key at-bat was by Joe Panik who deflated the
spirits of the home town crowd when he doubled clearing all three ducks off
the pond. Both teams totaled 13 hits on the night.
The victory was credited to Kyle Freeland(8-14) who went 5 innings, allowing 8
runs. Rosenthal recorded the save, his 4th. Jake Arrieta(4-14) suffered the
loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 8 runs in 3 and 1/3
innings.
