Scherzer(8-10) pitched a fine game. He went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 hits
and 5 walks. Vernon out-hit Caracas for the game, 15 hits to 9.
Matt Andriese earned the save, his 2nd. Mike Fiers(11-7) was tagged with the
loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 6 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings.
When asked about his strikeout total for the game, Scherzer offered, 'The
fan's really got into it. It is fun to see them tally up the strikeout
totals up there in the stands. Fortunately, I kept them busy tonight - of
course, it would be all for naught without the 'W'.'
