separated the combatants at game's end. The Holland Heffalumps won by the
slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.
The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings. Finally, Holland pulled the
game out in the 10th inning. Matt Olson drew a walk. Josh Bell stepped into
the batter's box and he drew a walk to load the bases. Francisco Lindor got
his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes. Joc Pederson
was up next and he hit a deep fly scoring the run. Both teams ended up with
7 hits on the night.
The win was credited to Phil Maton(5-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no
runs. Diego Castillo recorded the save, his 18th. Liam Hendriks(8-8) was
charged with the loss in relief. He was pinned with the loss despite not
allowing an earned run in his 1 inning of work.
