David Bote hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI and Yu Darvish retired 13 batters on
strikeouts at Busch Stadium as the Streator Reds beat the Tampico Stogies 6
to 2.
Darvish(4-10) had a solid outing for Streator. He went 7 and 1/3 innings and
surrended up 7 hits and 1 walk. Despite losing, Tampico out-hit Streator 8
to 5.
Junior Guerra recorded the save, his 1st. Johan Oviedo(1-6) was the losing
pitcher. He allowed 4 hits and 5 walks in 5 innings.
Darvish didn't realize how many strikeouts he was racking up. When told he
had 13 he was obviously surprised, 'No kidding? Man, I knew that I had a
decent total, but I didn't think I had K'd that many. Say, that's pretty
good, isn't it?'
