Robinson Cano had 2 base hits and Lucas Giolito racked up an impressive total
of 10 strikeouts as the New York The Yanks beat the Aarlington Aardvarks by a
score of 3 to 0.
Giolito(4-6) came through with a virtuoso performance against the Aarlington
hitters. He allowed just 1 hit and 1 walk in 6 innings dropping his ERA from
4.50 to 4.11. Both teams' bats went to sleep after the 4th inning with no
runs scored after that point.
Giolito got help from Chasen Shreve who earned his 3rd save. Josh
Lindblom(0-5) was the loser. He got hammered, allowing 7 hits and 2 walks in
3 and 2/3 innings.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Giolito - except Aarlington.
Steve Linke lamented, 'He just was 'on' tonight. He was keeping our guys off
balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout pitcher - makes it a fun
game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were the visitors!'
