In a startling finish the Burbank Tigers staged a comeback then held on to win
over the New York The Yanks by a score of 8 to 7 at Lateralus
Parabola.
Burbank had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning plating 2 runs
using 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Jose Abreu got things rolling when
he ripped a solo home run. A.J. Pollock stepped up to the plate and he
stroked a single. One out later, Ben Gamel then doubled scoring the final
run of the inning. It was roller coaster of a game as the lead change hands
5 times.
Matt Foster(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning.
Nick Anderson recorded the save, his 6th. Craig Stammen(0-1) was charged
with the loss in relief. His ERA increased from 4.76 to 5.68 as he allowed 1
run in 2/3 of an inning.
Wes Davies was very happy after the game, 'It's great to come back and win it
in your last at bats! Our guys just wouldn't give up. And did you see the
fans - one minute they're laughing and screaming down all sorts of
