Ian Happ knocked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Jurassic Park as the Oakland
Athletics beat the Dyersville Jurassics by the count of 8 to 6.
Happ was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He belted a three-run homer in the 1st
inning, laced a single in the 5th inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown'
in the 9th inning. Oakland had 13 hits for the night while Dyersville had 8.
The victory was credited to Carson Fulmer(1-0) who went 2 and 2/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Fulmer was helped out by Yimi Garcia who recorded his 3rd
save. The losing pitcher was Griffin Canning(0-2). He got hammered,
allowing 10 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings.
The Oakland ballclub's record now stands at 7-7. With the loss, Dyersville
has a record of 5-5 lately, 5-9 overall.
