Yu Darvish had a strong outing at Streator Park as the Streator Reds staged a
comeback win over the Vernon Hillbillies by the count of 2 to 1.
Streator had the game winning rally in the 9th inning plating 2 runs. After
an out was recorded, Randal Grichuk started the rally when he reached on an
error. Elvis Andrus was the next batter, but he struck out. Austin Romine
then reached on an error. Jordan Luplow came up and he doubled giving
Streator the victory and sending the 13,924 home-town fans home happy.
Streator finished with just 5 hits in the victory.
The winning pitcher was Zack Godley(1-4) who allowed 1 run in 1 inning. The
losing pitcher was Zack Britton(0-3) in relief. 'Wow. That's about all I
can think to say.' said Ralph Madara following the victory. 'If ever a team
needed a win, it was us.'
