54,959 fans watched an exciting game at The Horseshoe. The Columbus Crowd
topped the Chicago Colts by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.
Columbus won the game with a run in the bottom of the 8th inning. Ronald
Guzman drew a walk. Eloy Jimenez was next to the plate, but was promptly
struck out. Guzman then stole second base. Kevin Newman came up and he
delivered a one-base hit scoring the run. Chicago tried unsuccessfully to
come back in the 9th.
The victory went to Mychal Givens(4-3) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing 2
runs. Oliver Drake recorded his 6th save. Trevor Gott(4-4) was tagged with
the loss in relief.
Rich Domovic was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our
guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one.
That is what really ticks me off!'
