The San Ybel Islanders edged the Vernon Hillbillies at SunTrust Park by the
score of 3 to 2.
Vernon found themselves trailing quickly as the San Ybel bats came through in
the first inning when they scored 2 runs on 2 hits. The crucial at-bat was
provided by Mike Tauchman who came through for the home fans when he doubled
bringing in two baserunners. Vernon tried unsuccessfully to come back in the
9th.
Jose Berrios(14-8) went 7 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. Alex Colome
was credited with his 7th save. Jake Odorizzi(9-9) was given the loss. He
surrendered 3 runs and 8 hits in 6 and 1/3 innings.
When questioned about the loss, John Stryker said, 'The fans got to see an
exciting game out there tonight. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it done this
time. Next time, though, we'll be the clubhouse with all the smiles.'
