Jeff McNeil blasted a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Aarlington Aardvarks
defeated the Hollywood Marines in 10 innings 7 to 5 at Comerica Park.
Both teams had scored 5 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Aarlington
prevailed in the 10th inning. Omar Narvaez led off and he was hit by a
pitch. Jake Lamb came next and he slapped a base-hit. Brian Goodwin then
stroked a one-base hit driving in a run. Marwin Gonzalez struck out, unable
to help the rally. Billy Hamilton came up to bat and would hit into a force
play scoring the final run of the inning. Hollywood was retired without
difficulty in the bottom of the 10th.
The win was credited to Tommy Milone(6-6) who went 2 innings allowing no runs.
Wander Suero(5-4) was given the loss in relief. 'Ahhh, how sweet it is,'
Steve Linke sighed. 'That win feels like a tall, cool drink of water after
spending far too much time in the desert lately.'
