Max Kepler ripped 3 homeruns and scored 4 times at Camden Yards as the San
Ybel Islanders beat the Burbank Tigers 10 to 2.
Kepler was unconscious out there. While Burbank pitching was serving
softballs up there for him to hit, the Burbank fans were serving up some
hardball barbs when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel
for the fire. He clubbed a solo home run in the 3rd inning, ripped a solo
home run in the 6th inning and cracked a solo homerun in the 9th inning. San
Ybel out-hit Burbank for the game, 12 hits to 7.
Charlie Morton(10-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Zack Wheeler(8-10) took the loss. He was knocked around by
San Ybel, allowing 8 hits and 5 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
'Kepler led the way - we just jumped on his back and let him take us,' Morton
said. 'I'm glad I don't have to face him. I'm glad he's on my team.'
