Michael Pineda dominated striking out 13 Aarlington batters at Streator Park
where the Streator Reds beat the Aarlington Aardvarks by the score of 5 to
4.
Pineda(3-3) was tremendous on the mound for Streator. He gave up just 4 hits
and no walks in 8 innings improving his ERA from 4.06 to 3.73. Aarlington
had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
Pineda was helped out by Junior Guerra who recorded his 5th save. Adam
Wainwright(1-7) was charged with the loss. He was touched for 9 hits and 2
walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
Pineda was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my
pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got
into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again
in my next outing.'
