The San Ybel Islanders nipped the Streator Reds 6 to 5 at SunTrust Park in a
hard fought contest.
The game was won by San Ybel with a run in the bottom of the 8th inning.
After two were out Alex Bregman drew a walk. Cody Bellinger next to the
plate and he tripled scoring the run. Streator had a chance in the 9th but
they came up short.
The victory was credited to Craig Stammen(3-1) who went 1 and 1/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Stammen got help from Alex Colome who earned his 3rd save.
The loss was charged to Kyle Ryan(3-2) in relief. He surrendered 1 run and
no hits in 2 and 1/3 innings.
Ralph Madara was subdued when questioned after the game, 'Sure, this kind of
loss takes a while to get over, but heck, we're all professionals. We've
been through this many times - it's the nature of the game. We'll be fine -
as for me - I'll be ready to go again tomorrow!'
