Vernon jumped on top of Dyersville in the bottom of the 2nd inning with 2 runs
utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Tony Wolters initiated the
scoring spurt when he laced a single. Jake Marisnick followed next and he
cracked a two-run shot. Vernon had 15 hits for the night while Dyersville
had 10.
Zach Plesac(2-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 4 runs. Matt Andriese earned his 1st save. The loss was charged to
Aaron Nola(0-6). He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 6 innings of work.
