Jose Osuna blasted 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the blistering-hot Tampico
Stogies defeated the Chicago Colts by a score of 15 to 8 at West Side
Park.
Osuna provided the offensive punch. He clubbed a solo home run in the 4th
inning, lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 6th inning and laced a one-base
hit bringing home two baserunners in the 7th inning. Tampico bats were very
productive in the 7th inning when they had 4 runs on 5 hits. Tampico and
Chicago each finished the night with 18 hits.
Jose Quintana(5-3) was the winner allowing 5 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Jesse
Chavez(4-2) was the loser. He surrended 3 homeruns in his 3 and 2/3 innings.
Tampico won for the 7th straight time. Mike Aldrich was in a great frame of
mind in the clubhouse after the game, 'Everybody's contributing now. Timely
hitting, some slick fielding plays and good pitching when we need it. Man,
when that's happening, this sure is an easy job!'
