The New York The Yanks pitching staff gave the fans an evening that they'll
never forget by tossing a combined perfect game! The tension started to build
around the 6th inning. By the 9th inning the crowd was electrified. After
the 3rd inning, neither team was able to score.
Mike Fiers(6-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 6 innings. Fiers
got help from Javy Guerra who earned his 2nd save. Sandy Alcantara(7-2)
suffered the loss. He struggled with his control issuing 5 walks in 2 and
2/3 innings.
'You probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than this
happening,' said Fiers who got credit for the win, 'I don't expect it to sink
in for awhile.' he said. 'You know, it's hard to say who was better, the
starter or the bullpen!'
