Hunter Dozier had 4 hits and Caleb Ferguson delivered 3 and one third solid
innings as the Tampico Stogies outscored the Dyersville Jurassics in 17
innings 3 to 2.
Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings. Tampico came out on top
in the 17th inning. Wilmer Flores doubled. Ketel Marte next to the plate
and he lashed a single. Josh Donaldson then drew a walk to load the bases.
Dozier was up next and he singled resulting in an exciting win for Tampico
and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. Tampico out-hit
Dyersville for the game, 16 hits to 12.
Ferguson(2-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 3 and 1/3 innings. Chad
Green(0-2) was the loser in relief. He surrendered 4 hits and 1 walk in 1
inning.
