Josh Donaldson homered and had 5 RBI as the Tampico Stogies defeated the
Streator Reds by the score of 8 to 4 at Streator Park.
Donaldson provided much of the offense. He delivered a solo blast in the 5th
inning, doubled resulting in a run in the 7th inning and doubled emptying the
bases in the 9th inning. Tampico and Streator each finished the night with 7
hits.
The winning pitcher was Shaun Anderson(2-0) who allowed 3 runs in 5 and 1/3
innings. Caleb Ferguson preserved the game for Anderson, recording his his
1st save. Chris Sale(0-4) was the losing pitcher. Despite taking the loss,
he whiffed 9 batters in 6 and 2/3 innings.
The Tampico ballclub's record now stands at 26-22. With the loss, the
Streator ballclub's record is 19-29.
