In a thriller the Oakland Athletics staged a dramatic comeback over the
Dyersville Jurassics winning by a score of 8 to 7 at Wrigley Field.
Oakland scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning plating 2
runs on 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Steve Wilkerson started the rally
when he doubled. Jon Berti stepped up next and he delivered a base-hit.
Alex Gordon then drew a walk to load the bases. Mitch Garver was up next and
he doubled making Oakland the victor and beginning a joyous home town
celebration. Oakland finished with 15 hits while Dyersville ended up with
12.
The victory went to Austin Brice(3-0) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs.
Sergio Romo(0-2) took the loss in relief. 'What a game!,' Brice said
afterward. 'When we won it I almost couldn't believe it!'
