In a good matchup it was the Dyersville Jurassics 6, the struggling Oakland
Athletics 4 at Wrigley Field.
Dyersville scored 3 runs in the decisive 7th inning with the help of 4 hits.
Eric Hosmer was the sparkplug when he smashed a solo-shot out of the park.
Tim Anderson followed and he singled. Starling Marte then laid down a
sacrifice bunt. Eduardo Escobar came up and he ripped a base-hit plating
another run. Aaron Brooks then picked Escobar off first base. Danny Santana
added to the uprising and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly'. Oakland had a
chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
Devin Smeltzer(1-0) got the win allowing 4 runs in 6 innings. Sergio Romo got
the save, his 7th. The loss was charged to Yimi Garcia(1-3) in relief.
Joe Ingraffia was in a sour mood after the game. 'Even you guys up in the
press box know why we lost this game. We made too many mistakes.'
