Ian Happ hit one over the fence and had 2 RBI as the Oakland Athletics won in
dramatic fashion over the San Ybel Islanders by a score of 5 to 3 at Wrigley
Field.
Oakland had the game winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 3
runs on 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Greg Allen opened up the rally as
he drew a walk. Yadier Molina came next and he laced a base-hit. Emilio
Pagan then picked Molina off first base. Alex Gordon was up next and he
delivered a single bringing in a run. Happ came up to bat and lifted one out
of the park for a two run home run making Oakland the winners and sending the
318 fans home happy. Oakland rapped out 10 hits for the night.
The victory was credited to Austin Brice(2-0) who went 1 inning, allowing 1
run. The loss was charged to Pagan(0-1) in relief.
