Kyle Schwarber added four ribbies to his seasonal total with one swing of the
bat at The Horseshoe where the Palatine Cubs beat the Columbus Crowd 9 to
3.
Schwarber provided much of the offense. He cleared the bases with a Grand
Slam homerun in the 3rd inning and doubled in the 5th inning. Palatine
finished with 13 hits while Columbus ended up with 9.
Daniel Norris(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 6 and 1/3
innings. Brandon Woodruff(4-3) was the losing pitcher. He got hammered,
allowing 5 hits and 2 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.
The Palatine ballclub's record now stands at 22-13. Still in a bad slump,
with this loss, Columbus is 2-8 lately and 20-15 on the year.
