Gerrit Cole reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts at The Heffadrome as the
Vernon Hillbillies beat the Holland Heffalumps 4 to 3.
Cole(2-1) was in control of the game from the outset. He didn't allow much,
just 3 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings dropping his ERA from 3.21 to 2.83.
Holland threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
Cole got help from Zack Britton who was credited with his 2nd save. Andrew
Cashner(0-4) was given the loss. Cole was humble when questioned about his
performance, 'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches tonight. But, I
had great support behind me and I just threw what was called. That was an
extremely well called game!'
